Economical and powerful refrigerant evaporators have for a long time made use of ribbed pipes or pipes with a special surface structure. These methods allow heat to be efficiently transferred from the pipe wall to the refrigerant. The Truco coaxial evaporators from KM Schmöle transfer heat using high-performance evaporator pipes with a structured surface and are optimised using well-designed flow paths on both the refrigerant and heating medium sides. The heat exchanger also implements the advantageous counterflow principle. Depending on size, Truco coaxial evaporators consist of one or more evaporator pipes enclosed within a single casing. Pipes for the piping system are bent into helical shapes or other structures. The area inside the evaporator casing is filled with water or another heat carrier with glycol additives as the heating medium. The refrigerant to be evaporated passes through the evaporator pipes in a counterflow direction. Adjusting the expansion valve allows the refrigerant vapour to be superheated by a few degrees. This ensures that dry refrigerant vapour is always fed into the compressor. A proven distributor system that ensures even distribution of refrigerant through each of the high-performance evaporating pipes and guarantees the high specific evaporating capacity compared to conventional systems. Spacers prevent oscillations in the evaporator pipes within the casing. This also ensures even exposure of the heating medium to the evaporating pipes. 6 standard helical evaporators are available covering a performance range up to 57 kW.
