Frequency-regulator Bitzer power racks work using two semi-hermetic Bitzer
compressors. These units have been specially developed for use in refrigeration systems with
variable refrigeration demand. The use of a Power
Electronics Yaskawa frequency converter allows compressors to operate continuously
While optimally adjusting cooling performance to the current conditions.
The frequency converter operates one or both compressors according
to the current power requirements. This achieves a very
wide power band width.
In the event of a failure of the frequency converter, a low pressure switch
and manual switch can be used to activate emergency mode operation with
a single compressor.
These devices are therefore an energy-efficient and space-saving alternative
to power racks with multiple compressors. The Bitzer compressor units
are available in seven different power classes. The compressor units
are designed for use with refrigerant R134a in the normal cooling range. Other
refrigerants and operating conditions on request.
Cooling power is regulated depending on the intake pressure. For controlling the power rack,
a Power Electronics Yaskawa frequency converter is used in combination with a
pressure transmitter. This is mounted and thermally decoupled on the
intake side and records the actual intake pressure value. The rack controller
regulates the cooling power of the rack so that the target value
for the intake pressure is achieved as closely as possible.
The frequency converter is included with the control box.
Configuration is input via a keyboard. The frequency convertor comes pre-configured. Only
a small number of parameters must be changed to adjust the target
value. The control box is mounted to the frame and wired. Alternatively
it can be delivered loose.
All components are mounted to a tough riveted steel profile frame.
All parts of the frame have a double coating. The power rack stands on the supplied
rubber-bonded metal bases. Refrigeration lines are conveniently grouped together
at the rear.
Devices are fitted with an oil separator and reservoir as standard in order to ensure
reliable operation, even during a temporary minimal cooling load on
the system. The compressors feature electronic oil level regulators.
