The oil from the oil separator is degassed, cooled and stored in the oil reservoir. ESK oil reservoirs have two inspection glasses including an oil level indicator (float ball) and two shut-off valves. The size of the oil reservoir depends on the number of compressors in the power rack, the amount of oil needed in the crankcase, the amount of refrigerant in the system and the operating conditions. The selection table (component catalogue) provides recommendations based upon our experiences with power racks. During commissioning, fill the oil reservoir up to the top inspection glass with compressor machine oil. Top up the oil only if the oil level falls below the lower inspection glass.
