Semi-hermetic air-cooled condenser units
Users of semi-hermetic condenser units have been relying on Copeland for many years to provide them with reliable high-performance products. Copeland has committed itself to continuing the development of its technology while also retaining the traditional brand values of DWM Copeland. This product selection catalogue contains a complete list of semi-hermetic condenser units for 50 Hz applications.
Many years of technical and manufacturing experience have resulted in these condenser units that are produced in one of the most advanced production plants in Europe. They stand out for their excellent quality and are well-known throughout the refrigeration industry.
Two versions are available:
1. Standard condenser units with intake tongue technology are economical in price and based upon DK, L, 2S and 3S compressors. Models starting at 2 hp are also available with a large condenser and from 3 hp with two fans that can used in extreme conditions such as high evaporating temperatures and/or high ambient temperatures. All condenser units can be used in both normal and low temperature cooling.
2. High-efficiency Discus compressors that use Discus valve technology cover the power range from 5 to 40 hp. These condenser units are particularly suitable where a great deal of value is placed on extremely high effectiveness.
Condenser units with two stage compressors ranging from 15 to 25 hp are available for lower evaporating temperatures. Models delivered with ester oil are generally suited to use with R404A, R507, R407C, R134a and R448A/R449A, thus covering a wide range of possible applications.
Note: Models with 2S and 3S compressors are available for R404A only. R404A models can also be operated using R507. In this case, the specified cooling performance must be multiplied by a factor of 1.03 and the power consumption by 1.02.

- Single-phase motor with thermal overcurrent relay.
- Three-phase motor, fully protected by temperature sensors (thermistors) in the motor winding and actuation relay in the connection cabinet of the compressor.
All compressors are suitable for direct start-up. In order to reduce start-up currents, optional motors for star/delta or part winding starts are available. An additional accessory for an unloaded start is available for all condenser units with star/delta or part winding starter motors.
