The SM/SY/SZ scroll compressors from Danfoss contain two scroll elements for compression, located in the upper part of the compressor. Suction gas enters the compressor at the suction connection. As all the gas flows around and through the electromotor, the motor is guaranteed to be fully cooled, no matter what the application. Oil drops that fall into the oil sump are also separated. Once it leaves the electromotor, the gas enters into the scroll elements where it is compressed. Finally, the hot gas leaves the compressor via the pressure discharge nozzle.
